How to add music to YouTube Shorts?

Many people ask me how to add my music to YouTube Shorts so that YouTube does not block the video. It's very simple, following the instructions below your video will not be blocked on YouTube.

All of my music is copyrighted around the world. I signed a contract with HAAWK. They control and manage my copyright on YouTube on my behalf. I have to protect my copyrights so that I, my music, all my clients, and all the people who use my music on YouTube are safe.

The rules for using short videos are different from using long videos. To prevent your short video from being blocked, you need to use music from the YouTube Shorts music directory. Also, your video should be no longer than 60 seconds.

If you use music from 60 to 180 seconds, your short video will most likely be blocked. To unblock this video you will need to purchase a standard license and dispute the claim. After this, your video will be restored.

Below is an instruction on how to upload short video so that YouTube does not delete or block your video.

Upload video to YouTube Shorts section:

Open the YouTube app on your mobile phone and click (+) to add a new short video, then click 'Create Shorts'.

Choose the length of your video 15s, or 60s.

Then you need to click 'Upload' and select from the list the video (which you want to upload) and click 'Next' button.

Adding music to your video:

Then you need to add a music track to your video. Click on the 'Add Track' button. In search write my artist name and the name of the music track you want to add (for example 'AShamaluevMusic Beautiful Life'). In the list you will see the track you need and press the red add button (->).

After you have added music, click on the 'Next' button. Then you can add effects or text to your video if you need it. After you have added the effects you need, you press the 'Next' button.

Next, you need to come up with a title for your video. You can also change the cover of your short video. Please note that once you publish this video, the cover cannot be changed. After you have written the title and edited the cover, you can publish this short video by clicking on the 'Upload' button. After a few minutes, your short video will be uploaded to the YouTube Shorts section.

Add description and tags:

You can add a description of your video, add some tags, you can also tag me (@ashamaluevmusic) in your videos if you want, it's optional. This can be done after your video is uploaded, open YouTube Studio and in your video settings you can add a description and tags.
